High-Speed Automated Closest-Cab Despatch

One of the most powerful features within Cordic's data despatch system cPAQ is the ability to allocate the closest vehicle to the customer’s pick-up location. cPAQ automatically chooses the optimum route to the pick up point and drop off destinations using GPS; this reduces the amount of dead mileage (the unpaid miles), fuel costs, CO2 emissions and wear and tear on a firm’s fleet.

cPAQ assists to reduce the number of vehicles travelling without a passenger on their return journey; because the vehicle’s position is constantly tracked using GPS, nearby jobs are allocated to those vehicles improving efficiency across the fleet. Office staff can track each vehicle at any time to see their exact location and also what speed they are driving. The GPS information also automatically calculates the Expected Time of Arrival (ETA) of each job and if the vehicle gets stuck in traffic the ETA is updated; this helps to improve the overall experience and customer service.

Using GPS technology 20% fewer miles are driven and fleets can track their CO2 emissions and provide account customers with detailed CO2 emissions statements, encouraging them to be more carbon aware. Fleet Managers are able to report the CO2 emissions by dead mileage, paid mileage and/or total mileage on account customers' invoices as required.

Emissions are calculated using the in-vehicle GPS terminal and the vehicle's manufacturer's CO2 emission specification.

City Cabs Edinburgh"City Cabs (Edinburgh) Ltd has made a commitment to integrate environmentally sensitive thinking into overall policy and decision making.  We understand the impact that our business has on the environment, and will strive to conduct our operations in an environmentally sustainable manner, in order to protect the environment for future generations.

City Cabs (Edinburgh) Ltd is demonstrating its commitment to the environment through the implementation of an Environmental Management System ISO14001.

A key element to this commitment was to find a despatch system that helped to cut down on the amount of fuel and emissions we use and to keep them as low as possible. Thanks to Cordic’s Closest-Cab Despatch system we are achieving these targets and this has also helped towards our ISO14001 accreditation. It really is fantastic that we have a system that not only helps our environmental commitments but also provides a first class service to all our customers.

Cordic and cPAQ also provide us with the facility to record emission data on our invoices and has become invaluable as we are seeing many more of our customers asking us what emissions we are emitting. This not only shows that we are making changes to how we operate in regard to environmental issues but also helps us retain and gain new customers."

Taxi and Private Hire owner-drivers and fleet managers appreciate the fuel savings gained along with lower motoring costs as a result of less vehicle wear and tear. With the reduction of dead mileage (the unpaid miles), drivers are also able to work far more productively and efficiently maximising their earning potential as their fuel costs are kept lower.

Unique to Cordic cPAQ:

Cordic’s cPAQ system is the only booking and despatch solution in the market that despatches the Closest-Cab to the passenger’s pick-up location. It is also the only solution available with the ability to monitor and track vehicle CO2 emissions within the software program; the Accounting PRO package provides emissions data by dead mileage, paid mileage and/or total mileage on invoices and accounts encouraging account customers of the taxi/private hire fleet to be more emission/carbon aware.

Other unique features that encourage greener fleet behaviour:

Ride-Sharing: cPAQ supports ride sharing; using its intelligent despatch engine cPAQ automatically calculates the optimum pick-up and/or drop-off order of passengers and can automatically course-correct during the journey should a pick up or drop off be added or removed.

Follow-On-Job: cPAQ automatically reserves a follow-on-job for the driver so that when they have cleared their current job their next job is despatched automatically to them to reduce the risk of them driving back empty.
