Senior Software Engineer / Team Leader

Cordic Ltd is a leading supplier of software and system solutions for the transport industry both in the UK and Europe. Our success is built on market-leading products, technical leadership and first-class customer support.

Owing to our continued success we are growing fast and are looking for a Senior Software Engineer / Team Leader to join our team of highly skilled software engineers based at our headquarters in Swavesey, near Cambridge.

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior software engineer who wishes to continue their career progression. As part of our small team of highly skilled software engineers you will be contributing to the on-going software development activities. You will be managing this team to ensure the continued quality of efficiency of the team and influencing the future direction of the product.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design and development of Cordic System software
  • Managing feature requests, bug fixes and the annual software releases
  • Maintaining a clear view of the state of current development projects
  • Liaising with the Technical support and Software Test teams 
  • Mentoring new junior software engineers 
  • Carrying out Code reviews 
  • Acting as the main contact person for the Technical support and the Sales teams

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Good scientific/engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Proven hands on team lead / management experience
  • Natural team leader and team player
  • Commitment, enthusiasm, drive
  • Solid Visual C++ in a Windows environment 
  • Multi-threaded environment experience
  • Experience of OOAD - using structured code
  • Track record of successful delivery of substantial software projects
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly

Desirable skills and abilities:

  • C#, ASP.NET
  • Exposure to SQL databases
  • Prior experience in Taxi despatch systems

Customer Technical Support Engineers 

Cordic Ltd is a leading supplier of software and system solutions for the transport industry both in the UK and Europe. Our success is built on market-leading products, technical leadership and first-class customer support.

Owing to our continued success we are growing fast and are looking for a number of Customer Technical Support Engineers to be based at our headquarters in Swavesey, near Cambridge.

These roles are ideal for Engineers who are able to adapt their approach to clients who have a wide and broad range of technical abilities. To be successful you will be able to strike the balance between your excellent phone support skills, logical / analytical problem solving and use of your initiative to ensure continued customer satisfaction.

We are a growing company which allows flexibility in using your overall skills set, in and outside of the technical support environment. You would be joining a vibrant team in a small enterprise setting that will make the most of your creative thinking, expertise and allow you to develop new skills.

Responsibilities include:

  • Act as an initial point of contact for Cordic customers
  • Take ownership, diagnose and resolve reported issues in a timely manner
  • Configure Cordic systems prior to customer delivery
  • Occasional onsite visits to Cordic customer sites to install or maintain their systems

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Good scientific/engineering degree or equivalent experience
  • Prior experience of installing, configuring and maintaining Windows-based systems
  • Demonstrable logical problem solving 
  • Excellent customer service and telephone support abilities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Full driving licence

Desirable skills and abilities:

  • Previous exposure to training customers with a broad range of technical abilities
  • Exposure to SQL databases
  • Crystal Reports
  • Avaya Telephone systems
  • In depth knowledge of GPRS networks and support issues
  • Prior experience in Taxi despatch systems

Sales Department Manager

Cordic Ltd is a leading supplier of software and system solutions for the transport industry both in the UK and Europe. Our success is built on market-leading products, technical leadership and first-class customer support.

Owing to our continued success we are growing fast and are looking for a Sales Department Manager to be based at our headquarters in Swavesey, near Cambridge.

This is a great opportunity to lead a small sales team supplying first class solutions backed up with excellent customer support. This has led to every customer site being a great and willing reference providing continuous referrals for new business opportunities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Growing sales directly in assigned geographical areas.
  • Maintaining the honest and professional sales culture
  • Mentoring and motivating the sales team
  • Helping in the validation of the sales funnel
  • Assisting on closing sales
  • Ensuring the team is always kept abreast of the market and the competition
  • Review team's forecasts and agree sales targets

Essential skills and abilities:

  • Proven ability to manage customers during the sales cycle
  • Track record of providing clear and realistic forecasts
  • Natural team leader and team player with a hands-on approach
  • Ability to handle and adapt to an extremely wide style of customers
  • Able to clearly communicate the benefits of the system to an audiences with a broad range of technical and commercial abilities
  • Proven success in guiding a sales team to grow sales
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable skills and abilities:

  • Understanding of IT Systems and software
  • Sales experience in a similar domain (e.g. Taxi, Courier, Despatch Systems)

This position will include a car allowance, excellent basic salary and a generous commission package.
