17th July 2009 The annual Cambridge Dragon Boat Race will take place on 12th September 2009. Dragon Boat Racing is an ancient Chinese tradition which has become a popular way to raise money for charity in the UK. Cordic is entering the race for the first time this year with our aptly named team- 'Drag N Drop'. Twelve of our staff will swap their comfy desk chairs for a 10 metre Dragon Boat and race up the River Cam in nearby Fen Ditton.
We are raising money for EACH (East Anglia Children's Hospice). The goal is to raise £10,000 for EACH. So far we have raised just over £2,000. Our customers are helping us to reach this goal by taking part in Cordic's Donate Day 2009 - you can pledge so many pennies per job completed on 31st July. Pledges range from 2p per job to 20p per job from one generous customer! We have also set up a website www.justgiving.com/cordic - where anyone can make a one off donation to this worthy cause. Everyone who pledges or donates will also be entered into a draw to win a case of champagne!
