Customer Trainer

(Full-Time – Permanent) Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 pa

Cordic Ltd is a leading provider of software and system solutions for the transport industry both in the UK and Europe. Our success is built on market-leading products, technical leadership and first-class customer support. We are growing fast and now have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Trainer in our Customer Technical Support Department based at our headquarters in Swavesey, near Cambridge.

Cordic provides powerful, sophisticated systems to customers whose skill sets are not primarily technical. Customer training has therefore always been an important part of our business. We require a professional, experienced trainer to enhance the quality and scope of our training. We value creative thinkers and offer the chance to be part of a vibrant team in a small enterprise setting, applying your expertise and developing new skills.

You will be required to:

- Analyse training needs - the level of people's knowledge can vary greatly, so you may be delivering sessions to people with basic   
  knowledge of PC operation or teaching very experienced computer users how to use Cordic specific software.
- Design course materials and other documents such as handouts, manuals and exercises.
- Organise and market courses to meet the needs of learners and the demands of the business.
- Prepare the learning environment and resources, including setting up IT equipment.
- Deliver training programmes to clients either in a group classroom setting, or on a one-to-one basis.
- Deliver customer training at our Swavesey office or at customers’ offices.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the training and course outcomes.

To be successful you must have:

- A degree or extensive experience in a similar role
- A proven track record in customer training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A full driving licence

Field Installation Engineer

(Full-Time – Permanent) Salary: £18,000 - £24,000 pa


Cordic Ltd is a leading provider of software and system solutions for the transport industry both in the UK and Europe. Our success is built on market-leading products, technical leadership and first-class customer support. We are growing fast and now have an exciting permanent opportunity in our Customer Technical Support Department based at our headquarters in Swavesey, near Cambridge.

We are looking for an Installation Engineer who will be involved in the installation of software and hardware on client sites and some customer training. We need an engineer who is happy working in the field (throughout the UK with possible overnight stops). You will ensure that all work carried out on a customer site is completed in a timely and professional manner. As we are a growing company there will be flexibility to use your overall skill set, even outside of the technical support environment. We value creative thinkers and offer the chance to be part of a vibrant team in a small enterprise setting, applying your expertise and developing new skills.

On a typical day, you will:

-Configure Cordic systems prior to delivery to customers
-Remotely manage new Cordic customers prior to installation and go-live
-Carry out in-house training of new Cordic customers prior to installation
-Install Cordic systems at new customer sites
-Visit existing Cordic customers to install additional equipment, investigate and possibly repair network issues or to carryout training
-Remotely manage new Cordic customers after their go-live

To be successful you must:

-Have a degree or extensive experience in Computer Science or an IT related field
-Have experience of installing, configuring and maintaining Windows-based systems
-Knowledge of CAT5 cabling, Networking devices and ADSL type connections
-Ideally have previous exposure to training customers with a broad range of technical abilities
-Possess excellent customer service and telephone skills
-Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
-Have a full driving licence
-Ideally have previous exposure to Avaya and BCM telephone systems
