About	A & B Taxis has invested heavily in the latest technology within the taxi industry enabling us to provide for our customers an unrivalled quality of secure service.

In March 2007, A & B unhappy with their old PMR data despatch system, decided to install Cordic’s latest cPAQ system. This followed many months of research into Cordic’s product to establish whether the system best suited their current and future needs. Co owner Gary Brand said, “having used other system suppliers in the past it was vital to the long-term strategy of A & B that we purchased and installed the most flexible feature packed product on the market”.

We had a punishing list of requirements most of which were all standard features with Cordic, however there were a few features that Cordic introduced to their range such as an intelligent IVR which as well as allowing the client to book a taxi without speaking to an operator, also provides an automated real time progress report giving information such as arrival time, vehicle make model and colour etc.

Our new system also answers our free phone numbers from supermarkets this feature together with job progress report has greatly increased the amount of calls that are handled automatically therefore allowing our telephonists to handle the more complex bookings.

The installation although forced upon us due to the failure of our previous system was very smooth, considering we combined the install with an office move, new telephone system and new computer system all simultaneously. Cordic pulled out all the stops and helped us every step of the way during this somewhat stressful time. We are also delighted with the level of help and guidance from Cordic’s customer support team since the installation. We’re still getting used to having a system that is so flexible. For example, we allow our drivers to accept work while they’re out of their vehicles. Our drivers like this feature and it’s good for security. However, if a driver abuses this privilege we can remove it from him on a per driver basis.

Since the install we have been able to track our drivers anywhere in the UK due to the national coverage that we now enjoy, a secondary benefit of removing the radios has been a huge reduction in noise levels in the office, no more requests for directions as every driver has automatic route guidance on every job.

We are able to produce management reports on just about every subject and the whole system can be manipulated to work the way you want it to work because all of the critical parameters can be altered by the user something that was previously very costly and time consuming.
